CP52 WebDeck · Ledger ✦ grounded — built on VAT returns we've already filed

The account book that keeps itself.

Bank data in. Clean accounts and a prepared VAT return out. You approve.

The most-dreaded part of running a business — the tax bill — handled by your Inkling. It categorises, reconciles, prepares the return and shows you the salient figures first. Nothing is filed until you say so. Pulse is its live face: how much cash you have, and how much tax you'll owe.

How it works
01Bring the bank inCSV or feed — HSBC, Monzo, Stripe and more.
02It categorisesLearns your payees → the right account + VAT code. Auto for the knowns, flags the rest.
03Prepares the returnAccounts + the 9-box VAT, with anomalies surfaced for a look.
04You approveSalient figures first. Then a clean push to Xero — or, later, straight to HMRC.

What your Inkling does for you

  • Categorises every transaction — and learns from your corrections
  • Matches payments to invoices; reconciles 90%+ automatically
  • Chases overdue invoices in your voice, so you don't have to
  • Snaps receipts and files them — protecting every VAT reclaim
  • Preps the VAT return and keeps a live tax set-aside
  • Turns the numbers into plain English: what happened, what to watch

The build, in three phases

Phase 1Ledger Core + Pulse — import, categorise, reconcile, prepared VAT, dashboard, push to Xero. No external gates — sellable on its own.
Phase 2Get paid / pay out — invoicing + chasing, bills, receipt capture, management accounts.
Phase 3File to HMRC direct — MTD VAT (then Income Tax). Gated by HMRC approval — started early, shipped when cleared.
