1. Starting a New Creative Business
Hi, I am Damian Sémonin, founder of ‘Happy Career Path 52’, but more importantly, I am an aspiring artist. Are you ready to join me on a path of self discovery, the road to elysium?
A definition of Elysium is as follows:
A place or condition of ideal happiness.
A type of: fictitious place, imaginary place, or mythical place.
A place that exists only in imagination!
Well we are not on an imaginary path, a voyage of discovery that leads to something that exists only in my (and maybe yours to) imagination.
I have decided to commit myself fully, 100% to a year long experiment where I use myself as the metaphorical lab rat in a science experiment.
Today is January 1st 2024, and it is the first day of new and better life for me a happier one, one filled with a sense of daily accomplishment, a feeling on control over my destiny and route to true contentment, my quest to reach Elysium.
And because the level of commitment to this cause is so great and change is almost always an uncomfortable process, I wanted to share the trials and tribulations of this endeavour to help you navigate this same path more smoothly, should you want to.
My year of discomfort and discovery I hope will inspire you to realise that life is too short not to be pursuing dreams, to have given something a go, to have not tested whether an idea had merit and could have been the route to a life that suited you much better than your current position.

Learn a new skillset, plan and build a new business from a standing start, wrestling important software and applications into submission in order to free me up as much as possible to concentrate on what I want to do most this year, create and be creative, producing a portfolio of art, a body of work that allows me to earn a living.
I am going to be 52 in this year in 2024 and with 52 weeks in a year a serendipitous idea was formed, Happy Career Path 52.com
52 weeks in my 52nd year of life to change career and find a true rewarding life path.
I have been working on the programme design for this implementation ready to kick off ‘Happy Career Path’ on the 1st January over the last few months and today the experiment goes live.
I cannot wait to share the experience with you and over the course of this year I will share more of my back story and experiences.
In order to equip myself for the demands of the career change and support the challenging learning curve ahead I will ensure the prgramme focuses on the mind, body and soul and I will seek via a variety of methods and mini-projects to improve all these areas.
More details on what are the core parts of the experiment are will follow.
One of the fundamental steps is to develop a daily ‘art habit’ and produce work every day, however small and share this content daily.
This is that first step along with the start of a three day fast today, to be followed by a 28 day slow carb diet with no alcohol in order to reset my system and give me the energy required to stick to the challenging agenda of calendar events and learning activities ahead.
